LSM is announcing a new project involving TECHNOLOGY, TRAINING, JOBS, EMPOWERMENT, AND CONSERVANCY in Iquitos, Peru.

In initial development stages, this program would bring laptops and Graphic Design instruction to students at the Victor Morey Pena School of Fine Arts in Iquitos. This technology and training will then translate to much-wanted jobs for those students/others in Iquitos. It not only brings the indigenous Amazon art students into the modern world of technology, but greatly helps with jobs for students/others in digital/graphics/printing/marketing/web-design/ entrepreneurship/etc in Iquitos. Evening Adult Ed classes in Graphic Design will also be offered to non-art locals, greatly appealing to those in business/admin-support; and also simply as a Vo-Tech course for anyone.

This Fine Arts School does extensive outreach into the jungle villages to encourage youth to come to Iquitos to get trained/educated.

LSM Project in Iquitos, Peru:

The art students' at the Victor Morey Pena School of Fine Arts first graphic design project is to create a T-shirt with animals of the Amazon that become the Super Heros of the Amazon...example below. This is Phase I of a larger Amazon conservancy project ahead.
