Eco-Art School in the Amazon
Living Amazon Peru : Art Escape Sonoma
Creativity and Ecology come together with Artistic FunOur Living Amazon Peru Project collaborates with Art Escape of Sonoma, California across the continents. Together we host annual eco-art classes, teaching ecology through art, at Heliconia Amazon River Lodge, outside of Iquitos, Peru. The village students, from the local Biblioteca of CONAPAC, create nature-art using eco-friendly natural bark cloth, natural dyes, and palm fiber threads.
Kate Ortolano, co-founder of AE, and Mark Wangberg, co-founder of Living Amazon Peru help village students become creative masters. The village students learn the importance of their own backyard natural eco-art materials. Village students create their own unique design of nature of the Amazon that becomes artistic beauty.
